PAIN, PAIN GO AWAY

Change brings pain, but builds character. Brent is experiencing alot of pain in his bones (the joints especially). Scot and Carolyn (Cary) decided to sleep with Brent in his room last night. Instead they were up most of the night helping Brent manage his pain. All three got a good sleep from five to eight thirty a.m. Today, Brent had moments of pain but this is normal as his medication is lowered. A difficult step forward that is necessary in the progress of healing. Brent is also having moments of vomiting.

Today, Mom and Dad went and bought a CD stereo player for Brent to listen to his music as this new room had no stereo. Brent today started to cover his trach and had moments of talking longer (had a good chat with Grandma Peterson). This is a huge step forward for Brently as he overcomes this fear of learning to live without the trach.

Your prayers are effective. Thank you for praying.

Keep hoping.Keep loving.Keep praying.

  3. Praise God!! He is with you and is constantly watching over all. It's amazing how God answers prayer, which is encouraging many. Brent's story is an inspiration to many and will continue to be. You are still in our prayers and will continue to be until Brent is safe and sound at home. Praise be to God!!! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!!!

  5. Scot, I'd heard about the tragedy in your family, but don't know you outside of work at SHR. One of your IT colleagues directed me to this blog. I wish you and your family all the best that is possible during this difficult time.

  14. Today our four year old, Hope, prayed so earnestly for Brent's pain in his joints and that Jesus would help him not to be scared. Oh to have faith like a child! She reminds us that Jesus will do it!

  15. I am so glad to hear that Brent is doing better. I know the relief, but yet the anxiety and fear that comes when there is a change in the medical staff and environment when a loved one is moved out of ICU, it can be a mixed roller coaster of emotions.

Brent, you truly are a fighter, you remind me a lot of my fiance. He too overcame a lot of the issues with injuries to his abdomomen. I remember the pain and the fear he also felt, and the confusion of where did the last little bit of my life go. But you have amazing parents and lots of support from everyone, even though it may seem overwhelming now, it will soon start to feel more normal to you. I am pretty sure you have the same scars my fiance had, and maybe some day you guys will meet and can compare, lol. No matter what it seems like now, the confusion, the frustration, the pain, it will subside over time.

You guys are an amazing family! Scot and Carolyn you guys are so strong, and Brent hang in there and keep fighting, each day will bring a new challenge, but you are a strong boy and you can beat every single one of them.
