DAY 65

It's day 65. The walls and smells in the hospital ICU waiting room have become more than familiar to them. Brent is still in critical condition and in the ICU at Regina General. Change came to this family real fast and the challenge for them now is not to feel isolated or lonely as they go through this journey.

Brent is in surgery in the operating room this morning for surgery number twenty. They are once again cleaning out the vac dressing and the abdomen area. Painfully slow process but everything is going in the right direction.

One wonders how Scot and Carolyn (Cary) long for the normalcy of life to return to them in Saskatoon. The greatest encouragement to them is that they have you to encourage and pray for them through this process.

Keep hoping.Keep loving.Keep praying.

  1. We do think of and pray for you daily...many times through the day! I understand about the smells and the feelings of wanting things to be 'normal' again and the trying to find a new 'normal' as you adjust to your new circumstances...I empathize with your joy when there is even a small improvement and your diappointment and worry when things seem to be going wrong, and the roller-coaster that whole process takes you on. I encourage you to hold onto your hope and continue to know that others are upholding you, and we are trusting completely that God is and does give you the strength you both need as you need it. "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19. May God bless you abundantly today!!! Laura and Randy Dyck

  2. Scot & Cary,
I know that I don't bother you with comments often but rest assured that I continue to check this site daily. It is wonderful to realize that God is allowing Brent to recover from his injuries although painfully slowly. I pray for Brent's full recovery and for strength for the two of you daily. God bless you all!

  3. Still thinking of you all and praying for you. I also checked out what exactly a VAC dressing is, and so have more of an idea what is involved. Quite an amazing medical device, there. Will pray that healing will continue to take place steadily.
Hugs from Natalie and the rest of the Duecks
