NOT JUST ANOTHER KISS

The first twenty four hours since the surgery has passed without incident. Brent is in critcial conditon, however he is stable and resting well. Here are a few details:
  • Brent's ventilator is at 30 % oxygen
  • a test today proved that his kidneys and liver are functioning well
  • his blood pressure is doing well
  • heart rate is a little high

Incredibly, Brent has been responsive today. There were brief moments of opening his eyes. Mom and Dad were by his side again encouraging him on in this fight for his life. When holding his parent's hands, Brent gently squeezed his Mom's hand. Carolyn (Cary) asked Brent if he could blow a kiss to her and he responded to her request. Who would ever think that blowing a kiss to someone would be so big and important? Carolyn (Cary) ecstatically received that kiss from her 'Little Man.'

Thank you to the medical staff at Regina General and all the support staff that are guiding the Peterson's through this journey.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and notes of encouragement you've attached to this blog. The responses to the blog are a source of healing for Scot and Carolyn (Cary).

Keep hoping.Keep loving.Keep praying.

  23. We are so happy to hear that Brent made it through and is responsive!Praise God from whom all blessings flow! The following is a poem I wrote for all three of you;
    There is nothing anyone could possibly buy or any words they could say,to take away your hurt and pain - but I wanted to write this poem for you today.
    We lift you all in our Prayers and hold you near to our heart,our sympathy is with you,for it is with your dear loved one that you had to part.
    It is God that has sustained you in this hard journey you are going through and your example of Faith and amazing strength is not something that most people could ever do.
    We pray for God's blessing to pour over all of you - for supernatural strength and healing and the peace of the Holy Spirit to comfort you and help bring you through.
    May God's beautiful light shine into your lives and take away the tears that fill your eyes, the sun will shine again-somehow-someday,in God's will and time your tremendous pain he will heal and wash away.
    Love- in Christ, Jeanette Seed & Family.

  25. Truly amazing story you guys are living. So glad Brent is stable after such an incredible day of surgery. And it touched me that he was able to blow a kiss, and was willing to. Many teenage boys would never even consider it whether asked or not. Way to go Brent, even now, in the midst of pain and fear, making your mom and dad happy. We're Continuing to ask God to heal you fully,in every way.
