NOT SO GOOD FRIDAY FOR BRENT AND HIS PARENTS:
The best way to say the following is there are alot of things not going well at the moment. According to the parents they are so overwhelmed that they don't see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore. They are holding on to hope/faith, but they are realizing that there may be other plans for Brent.
Some of the concerns of the moment are the same as before, however some new ones are compounding the situation. The kidneys are shutting down - at this moment they are trying to hook up a dialysis machine to Brent. The greatest fear here is that there might be lung collapse. There are other medical things going on, but we'll leave it at that.
You, as family, friends, coworkers have been extraordinary in your support for this couple. They really need to hear some cool encouragment and love from you all. More than ever before there is a fear that Brent may be slipping away. If you could find the time to send a message again on this blog that would be very cool.
We love the Peterson family greatly. Let's hold on to hope and pray.

I have been checking the blog frequently..and this is not the news we want to hear...I feel in my heart that there will be a miracle yet for this young boy and his parents....can't imagine what they are going through at this moment.

My son Brandon used to play soccer with Brent. Scot was the (excellent) coach. All the boys had such a good time learning and playing the game. I've been following this blog, and had really hoped that things had turned for the better for Brent. I hope that they still will - my heart breaks for what your family has had to go through. Our family is thinking of you often. We also remember Katie - I used to bring my two younger daughters to the outdoor games and practices. When Katie was there she would take the little ones over to the school playgrounds to play on the climbers there. We wouldn't let them go on their own, but knew they were safe with Katie. She was a special girl, and is missed.

Just as He suffered for us, so He understands our suffering & heartaches as well. Don't ever forget that. There were several times specifically before and during this morning's service that I was specifically held up Brent for complete healing. (1) During the singing of Holy Holy Holy, Lord God ALMIGHTY. May all three of you indeed experience the MIGHTY power of God on His life TODAY! (2) During the choir's special number "We need a Saviour". The chorus is: Saviour Redeemer Deliverer HEALER, Refuge, Strong Tower,EVERLASTING STRENGTH! Fortress, Shelter, All powerful protector, Hero, Defender, Conqueror and KING!" Continuing to expect a MIRACLE for HEALING for Brent. Through His miraculous healing, many people will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Our God is able to ACCOMPLISH everything (and more) that concerns us!!

We know that in the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, God is there, right beside you and holding you all in the palm of His hand. If it was up to me, and my prayers for you and my desire for your son to be restored, it would be done already...but it is not up to me, or anyone else, and while we wonder and cry out and ask God to do this miraculous healing in Brent and to restore him to you, we know that ultimately, God is in control and He has His best for Brent. As parents, though, we cannot imagine anything better than to have his life restored and for his complete physical healing!!! I want to encourage you in the depths of these dark moments to hold onto your faith and allow us to uphold you in prayer and to totally lean on Christ and those He has given you for support. I stand with you in your fear and the battle you have as parents...wanting Brent restored to health, but having to face that his healing may come in a different form than what we all pray for so fervently. I pray that God would replace the fear in your hearts with peace and that no matter what decisions lay ahead for you, that you would have assurance that you are making the right ones! Today my heart is right back in the place where we were faced with the same fears and decisions, while still holding onto the hope that somehow, God would just astound everyone with a miraculous healing in our son's body. I truly feel your pain and I want you to know that there are those of us here that truly do know the valley that you are in and to encourage you that the sun is still shining and the clouds will not remain forever. My heart is with you and I am praying with faith that God will hold you all at this time and that His love will be seared into your hearts and that you will see His hand in the circumstances. May you all feel and know His presence unlike anything you have experienced! Lord, You are a miracle-working God, and even this past year, we have seen you perform miracles at the darkest hour, restoring health and healing where all seemed lost. In Jesus' name, we ask for Your will to be done, and with faith, ask that You heal Brent at this dark hour, even as You have healed others. We thank You for so many answers to our prayers that You have already given and for the hope that You have given us. Please, Father, allow this precious boy to be reunited with his loving parents and to regain his strength to live His life, testifying to others about You. Lord, we just don't understand why things are happening the way they are right now and we pray that You would guard our hearts and minds and that while we cannot see Your plan in this, that we would continue to trust You through it all. Our hope comes from You, Lord. We place the Peterson's in Your care and ask that You would meet every need and that they would sense Your presence completely. We pray for courage and peace. Hi Scott and Carolyn even though we are out here on vacation, you three are always on our minds and we are constantly praying for Brent’s recovery. We love you guys dearly and can't imagine not having all of you in our life, you are such good friends. As we remember what your Son did for us so we can be saved and become a part of your family...we call upon you Jesus for a miracle of healing for Brent...your child needs your touch. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus, You have brought Brent this far, and I have yet to believe that You're finished. I know You are the Great Physician, and Brent needs Your touch right now. Wrap Your loving arms around Scot and Carolyn and give them the endurance to get through this. Lord, guide the doctors every move, every thought, and direction that they may work to make Brent well. Wipe out the infections and toxins from him that are wracking his body and give him rest. Heal him, Lord, we ask for a miracle so that he may be a testament of Your mighty power. Save our boy, Lord God, save him and make him well. In Your holy and powerful name, amen.

ReplyDeleteThis past week we spent some very important family time with our kids. Going to a zoo, sitting around a small backyard fire, hanging out in the family room. Precious and fleeting moments that never last as long as we want them to, so careful, then, we must be that we don't miss a single one.
These kind of moments that you have had with Katie and Brent, now, must seem as close to Heaven as any of us could possibly know. So as you now cling as tightly as you can, with faith, hope, and trust in the Lord, the gift of these memories of your family will continue to bless your life. Both now and always.

ReplyDeleteIt was such a joy to be able to bring Tara to Regina to see you last weekend and getting to know two such inspiring faithful parents. I have always called Tara my "Faith Child" and I'm so glad that she's blessing your family with her gift of faith. Her faith has upheld me in my darkest hours and I know that is what it will do for you too. I have been studying the names of God which teach us about His character. Fittingly, I just finished learning about Yahweh Rophe- The Lord who heals us. That is His character. Draw near to Yahweh Rophe today, entrusting Brent to the One who has the power to heal him. Also I learned about Yahweh Nissi- The Lord is my banner. I pray that Yahweh Nissi will unfurl His banner for all to see as Brent is miraculously healed.

Brent,Scot and Cary- you were constantly in my thoughts today as we sang the choir songs at the Good Friday service. At the end of the service the pastor spoke sbout Jesus saying, "It is finished!" The provision for healing Brent is already complete. May the Lord surround you, Cary and Scot, with His unfailing peace and comfort as He walks you through this.

We do not know your family personally. I had heard your story through a friend the day this all happened. I have been following your blog! I want you to know we are all praying for you and your son. I have let all my friends and family know to pray for you. I believe god uses us in ways we can not understand at the time. Through the darkness their will be light, even if it is not what we believe is light at the time. The lord is faithfull and i believe on this good friday, he is using your family in a way we may not all understand. I believe that he has a plan for all our lives and we may not know why or how? just keep praising him through all of this. Our hearts and prayers are with you. God bless

ReplyDeleteFor God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind!!! Scott and Cary, you are in our thought and prayers all the time. As we go through this Easter time remember that Jesus died for our healing. He paid the price. Trials develope stubborn faith. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me. That verse does not say we make camp in that valley, it does not say we are stuck forever there, it says we walk through it!!! You are walking every day. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. You can do this. Brent, you are a very strong young man. We have never met you but we feel we love you and your family already. My husband told your mom that some day, we want to meet you face to face. We speak healing and strength to your body. Body we command you to line up with GOd's word. Scott and Cary, read those scriptures daily over Brent. You are his lifeline to God. You are his voice when he can't speak.
