  2. What a beautiful service! I love how Katie loved kids, even mine :) It makes me sad that we hadn't kept in touch very well recently - my kids (and Marlin & I) missed out on knowing Katie as a young woman. We look forward to seeing her again in Heaven!! Love you lots, Scot and Car and Brent - you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers!!

  4. Scot,Carolyn and Brent,
Our deepest sympathy to you all. You are daily in our thoughts and prayers and we continue to rally for more prayer support for Brent's healing and for you both to continually feel the presence of God's gentle hand carrying you through these days of sorrows. I can't help but think of the verses in Jeremiah 29 that I am sure you know well-"I know what I am doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hoped for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen. When you come looking for me, you'll find me...I'll make sure you are not disappointed." God's decree.(The Message) May peace run deep in your veins and into your hearts-
Much love to both of you

  5. I feel so rich from knowing this beautiful, young lady. She was such a blessing to all, especially my son who looked forward to walking home from school with her. The song "I Can Only Imagine" sent goose bumps up and down my arms. There is only one other song that has ever done that to me. Scot and Cary... know that God is watching over all of you right now. Loving, praying, believing in miracles.
    Hugs and love always,

    Sheila

  10. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a beautiful memorial service for a beautiful young lady. Katie lived her life well, and made good choices, and I pray that we will ALL ALWAYS keep her as a role model and inspiration on how to live our lives. WE LOVE YOU, ROSIE.
Pastor Rob, words can't express how impressed we are with you. You did an excellent job of pulling it all together with such compassion and love. And thanks for doing such a fabulous job on this blog.
Pastor Angela, your work behind the scenes, especially spending time with T beforehand, was greatly appreciated.
Pastor Marv, I think you know you're one of our favourite pastors. Your message was perfect, and will serve to remind people on how to obtain peace with God on "crossing over the river."
Jan, Lori, Lonnie, Esther, Gail, Lorelei, and everyone else involved in setting up and serving the lunch...THANK YOU. It was lovely.
And it goes without saying that the music was outstanding. (What?! I'm just sayin).
Scot, Car, Bub--we love you so much and thank you for being an amazing family. You will continue to be our first waking thoughts in the morning, and our last thoughts and prayers as we go to sleep at night. xoxo

  11. Here is the poem I said there...

I have come to share my thoughts and feelings about my friend Katie Peterson. I am glad I went to City park because if I did not I would not have met you. I will always remember our good memories at school and at your sweet six teen birthday party. Katie was always so happy, kind, nice, caring, friendly, vreative, and out going. I am glad that I am your friend. I know you will always be on my mind and I will never forget you.

You were there for me for the good times and the bad times. You gave me advice when I asked you for it.

Katie liked dolphins, horse, planting, sewing, reading, art and watching Stargate with James Cook at luch.

I miss you so much; it hurts to think of about you and it is not the same without you. I will think of you every time I enter City Park as you helped to make things so positive there. Your memory will live on forever in my heart.

    Rest In Peace Katie Peterson

    Always and forever your friend,
    Victoria Lacey Holmes
