Stable is good

Monday March 2, 2009

Scot and Carolyn were released from hospital on Sunday.

Brent continues to recover well from his third surgery and he is still at Regina General. He is less responsive because of the heavy sedation from his medication. We visit him - talk with him - played some of his favorite music (Toby Mac). We learned today that what's been happening with Brent since Friday night is a miracle. The medical staff commented on how well is doing considering how dire it looked on Friday. There's color in Brent's face and his hands are nice and warm. We also learned today that his recovery will probably be a long and challenging one. We read to Brent from scripture Luke 4:38 - 40 where Simon's mother-in-law is healed from a fever when Jesus prayed for her. Again, we continue to pray for healing for Brent.

We also read to Brent the messages on his facebook wall. Thank you for the get well wishes you are sending.

There is some talk on how to handle the funeral/memorial to honor Katie's life. We will inform you of the date when we know.

Some of the youth and friends of Katie came to gather at the youth pastors home on Tuesday night to share stories of Katie and to pray for Brent.

Scot and Carolyn want to express their gratitude to you for praying for their family.

  3. We were so sorry to hear about that horrendous accident. Words are inadequate to express our sorrow for Katie's death. We are praying for Brent's healing and pray that God will comfort all of you at this extremely difficult time.

  5. I am a friend of Katie and Brent's Aunt Nadine Tubman. My husband and I have been keeping everyone in our prayers, for Brent's healing and recovery, and for Scot and Carolyn that they would know and receive in full measure the love, peace, and strength that can only come from God. Our church here (Grace Christian Fellowship, Mount Vernon, WA) has been in prayer as well. It's good to hear that God's powerful Word is being spoken over Brent. God is with you!

    With much hope,
    Glory (Funk) Craig

  6. We, as well as the soccer community are praying and thinking of your family. The kids in the zone are wearing red and white ribbons on their shoes (for love and for hope) at each game to show their support. Jordan's team is wearing arm bands to show their support as they felt it would be more noticeable and wanted their support to be noticed by all.
