Brent completed his eighth surgery. Everything went well. Some of the injuries are healing well and the doctors took care of some of the skin. The infection is still the same which in a way is good as the infection has not spread or become larger. The feed line was taken out of his mouth and inserted through his nose. The breathing line was taken out of his mouth. The tracheotomy went very well and this will be the new way Brent will be breathing.
Brent still needs alot of prayer. Brent, you have alot of people cheering for you and send their love your way.
Scot and Carolyn (Cary) - hang in there. You are awesome parents.
Brent's next surgery is this Saturday March 21.

My heart goes out to the whole family. My prayers are with you. My hubsand was in a motorcycle accident in June and this is almost a flashback to the problems he had. I am no doctor, but one bit of advice that may help is that my husband had infection after infection, his stomach is still closing as everytime they tried to close it the infection got worse and made more problems, they tried the vac dressing and then they put this new stuff on called "Medihoney" i was sceptical as to this not working. It has worked, there is no pain involved at all, and best of all the honey draws out every bit of infection, he has gotten infection after infection everywhere else but never once on his open wound on his stomach with this honey on it. I am not sure if it would work in this case, but it may.
