Brent is stable and fighting!

Wednesday, March 4

I was able to spend a few hours with Brent. He is stable. He is still on the ventilator and heavily sedated. His color looks great. The only concern is that sometimes he is getting a little too warm. They are doing everything to make sure a fever does not develop.

They are trying to ween him off the ventilator and reduce his pain medication. They want to see if this can be tolerated. His heart and lungs are doing great!

There are spinal injuries - let me clearly specify - THE INJURIES ARE UNDETERMINED AT THE MOMENT AND THE DOCTORS ARE WORKING ON THIS.

Continue to pray for healing from the recent surgery and that the ventilator can be taken out. Other parts of his "insides" are beginning to work well - an answer to prayer.

We continue to read the cards you have sent to Brent. We also read the facebook messages to him.

If you would like to send a card or gift you are welcome to drop it off at Elim Tabernacle - 3718 8 St East - please drop them off during office hours from 8:30 to 4:30.

Scot and Carolyn are preparing all the necessary documents and are thinking of Katie. They are thinking of what is the best way to celebrate Katie's life. This is a difficult situation for parents to be in and they are doing their best. Scot and Carolyn are incredible parents. Continue to pray for strength, healing, and wisdom for them.

The memorial for Katie will be announced as soon as the parents know when it is the best time.

From Scot and Carolyn - thank you for all your support, concern, and prayers.

  3. We are thinking and praying for Scot, Carolyn and Brent constantly. We felt the power of prayer on Sunday during service at Elim when the pastor prayed and the whole congregation was bowed in prayer for your family. We pray that God would comfort you at this time at the loss of Katie and that He would wrap His love around you. We also pray that God would continue to work miracles in Brent's life with healing from above. Our love and prayers, Larry and Marion Boese

  5. Dear Scot, Carolyn, Brent, Nadine and family, Harvey and Maggie,
You are close in our hearts, we are holding you up in prayer every day. Although we didn't know Katie very well, we grieve with you, and wish we were there to hug you, and just help in any way. Your faith is a great testimony to many, keep staying strong and close to our Lord. We proclaim healing in Brent's body, and peace that is beyond our understanding for the whole family.

  6. Dear Scot and Carie and Brent, really not sure what words to say, the sadness and unthinkableness of this situation is heavier then anyone should have to experience. We are so sorry for your loss. In whatever way we can, in thought and prayer at the very least, and wishing we could stand beside you, hugging you until all the hurt passes, please know we are here for you. Our daughter just met Katie this past summer and Katie went out with her to see the pony and was patient and encouraging of her. It was Sierra's favorite part of our trip. We know the animals and children up in heaven are so happy to have her there. And yet words can simply not express what sadness, despite the wonder of her life here, is left. We pray that you all will be given the supernatural (and we mean God) strength and peace to move through this experience. And we pray for complete healing for Brent and both of you, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We love you and hurt with you.
    Love,

John and Sara Paterson and family

We didn't personally know Katie but recognize her from the pictures. We pray for Brent's continued healing; for your strength to continue in His power and for His peace that passes all our human understanding.
