Brent is spending his birthday going through some tests today. They are doing a CT scan of his head, stomach and abdomen area. Then, they are doing a renal profusion scan to check his kidneys. Surgery twenty eight to change the vac dressing and clean out the abdomen area will be happening sometime late this afternoon. Brent is experiencing some fear and is also vomiting often.
Your prayers for Brent are greatly appreciated.

Happy Birthday Brent, no wonder you have some fear, your expected daily activities aren't par for course with the average birthday. But we hope that it can still be a gift with everything turning out well with good news and a great prognosis for the future. WE love you and are praying for you every day (throughout!) ReplyDeleteSometimes when I am afraid, I remember the verses in the Bible "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind". 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV), and I am encouraged again. Remember that you are God's child and that He holds you in the palm of His hand...CONSTANTLY!!! Deuteronomy 31:6 says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." There is NOTHING that can harm you when you are in His hands!! His strength is there for you constantly. Call Him for help and know that He is always there, even when you don't feel Him. Often, I need to take my eyes off the problem or struggle that I am facing and refocus my eyes on Christ. Even when I was having my babies, I would pray and ask God to help me through the pain. He always did!! I can't even imagine what you are going through, but I know that God is with you and that His angels are all around you constantly!!! When our son was in the hospital 9 1/2 years ago, he saw angels around his bed on several occassions. I know that you have angels with you too!! I pray that if you don't see them, that you will feel them with you!!! Look to Jesus and keep your eyes focused on Him, especially in those times that you feel afraid!!! Hey Brent. Happy birthday! I know you would rather be spending today with your friends here in Saskatoon than in a hospital in Regina. I know your family and friends would prefer that too. It sucks sometimes that things don't go the way we planned but you can over come this and once again be here making everyone smile with the beautiful smile that you have.
