BIRTHDAY WISHES FOR BRENT

May 27 is Brent's 15 th birthday. Today, Scot and Carolyn (Cary) threw a birthday party for Brent in the MPICU at Regina General Hospital as he will have a busy day with tests on Wednesday. Brent's room was decorated and there was lots of food for the MPICU staff. Carolyn (Cary) even made treat bags for all the staff. Brent rested most of today, but he was aware enough to know that everyone was celebrating his birthday. Brent received from his parents a Man U Jersey that will have number seven and Ronaldo's name on the back. Brent also received a Man U hat from one of the nurses.

Here's what's happening with Brent:

  • he was sleeping most of the day and some of the meds were lowered
  • his blood pressure was a bit more settled today
  • Wed - they will be doing a CT scan on Brent
  • Wed - they will be doing a Renal Profusion Scan (this is to check and ensure kidneys are working fine)
  • Wed - Brent will be going for surgery twenty eight for the abdomen area

Our greatest birthday wish for Brent is that he will fully recover and live a full life. We are thankful for Brent and what he is teaching us.

    Happy 15th Birthday Brent! This is the day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. I am a Manchester United fan too! In fact I lived in a suburb of Manchester for a year for school and my lunch lady was the mother of one of the players.

    Happy 15, Brent!
    We are still so far away, but we follow you with this blog and our prayers as do so many others in this country. Your cousin Daniel, has gone to Sweden to spend some time with his cousins there before coming to Canada. Today I went shopping for decorations for Joseph's wedding. The masrket here is very different fronm a canadian mall- more interesting I think. Hope to see you in about a month. We love you all. God keep you safe.

    miss you hunn! hope your 15th is good...your almost a teenager, i cant believe that. seems like yesterday we were all playing in your basement, building forts and watching movies, ususally turning the stereo WAAAY too loud so we'd hear dad (scott) yell from playing cards upstairs with my rents "BREEENT!     Happy Birthday Brent! I'm 15 also and can not imagine going through what you have! even though the hospital is not ideal for a birthday, have a good day, but remember you'll never have one like it again! ( and wouldn't want too!) here's a little joke I would like to share with you.

    A man told his doctor, " I don't think my wife's hearing is a good as it used to be. what should I do?" The doctor replied, "Try this test first, When your wife is at the sink doing dishes, stand 15 feet away and ask her a question. If she doesn't respond keep moving closer until she hears you." He went home and saw his wife preparing dinner. Standing 15 feet behind her he said, " what's for dinner honey?" Hearing no reply, he moved up to ten feet behind her and repeated the question. Still no reply, so he moved to 5 feet. Finally, he stood directly behind her and said, "Honey what's for dinner tonight?"
