Day 207 and finally standing

Brent was at Physio on 5A and he stood up for a couple of minutes. Long time since last time standing. Way to go Brent!!!!!

PS: Please pray that Brent will have strength and the stamina to get up again the rest of this week. Please also pray for Carolyn as she is feeling sick and went to the house early today to rest and get better.

Continue to pray for:
Pain in Brent's back.
Pain in Brent's left wrist.

Highlights:
Brent was standing up for a couple of minutes on his own but he had very little help. By the end of the week he will hopefully be able to do this all on his own.
Brent also had some help to get into his chair by transfering his weight and slide from the edge of the bed to the broda chair .

Thank you for your prayers.
Keep hoping. Keep loving. Keep praying.

  13. This was a huge and scary (painful too?) step for you bud and I am so proud of you for daring to take it. As much as we are all so excited for this, keep taking it slow and steady. You and your physio team know what your body is ready for and how to pace it.

Above all, stay confident knowing that your Heavenly Father has you in His arms and you can lean on Him at ALL times.

We continue to pray that God will strengthen you in every way. Can't wait to see you again!

Car, get all the rest you need and stay healthy! You have been an amazing tower of strength for Scot & Brent (you know I know:) and they still need you.

    Love you guys much!

  16. Okay, I had to join the rest of the cryers when I saw the picture of you standing. Wow! We're so happy that you're coming along. We can hardly wait until you're home. Thought of you last night when I cooked Apple Puff Pancake for the family. You were missing. I'll bring some to you when you get home.

  17. Hey Brent,

We don’t know each other, but I have ties at Elim that go way back (your Aunt Nadine was my first camp counsellor at Living Waters Camp!) and have been following your blog for a long time now. It has been such an inspiration for me to see your progress and your determination. I think God has been teaching many people (including me) many things through your experience. It’s so awesome to see you standing and I just wanted to encourage you to press on. God is good, He’ll see you through.

    Praying for you in Vancouver,
    Amy (Fehr) Fernandes

  19. Yahoo Brent, Standing, answer to prayer! God Bless you Brent. Also for Scot and Car may the Lord strengthen you and may you lean on Him for renewed strength. Brent continues to inspire me and brings tears of joy to my eyes as I see the continued healing in his body. May we all pray and fast for the removal of pain in Brent's back and left wrist. Let's go Rider's!

  23. Way to go Brent! I can tell from the picture that it took a lot and probably hurt and was scary and exciting all at the same time. It will get easier each and everytime you do it. You are looking good! You don't know me, but my younger cousin Chase played soccer with you. My fiance overcame a lot of obstacles last year the same as you are doing now, and he remembers all too well what it felt like and how much it took, although his recovery didn't take quite as long, he remembers how much energy the simplest things that we take for granted took.
Keep up the good work! You are truly a fighter, and have amazing, strong parents. Thank you for keeping everyone posted on the progress, this is the first thing I read when I get home from work.
