Day 195 - 2 steps forward & 1 step back

Last night Brent had a NG (nasogastric) tube inserted in his nose. This is to help with his throwing up and relieves the pressure on his stomach. He will have a PIC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line inserted in his right arm tomorrow morning and once again will be on TPN (Total parenteral nutrition) for a few days till he gets his strenght caught up.

Please pray for Brent's PIC line and myself as I am writing an exam from 9:00 till 11:00 tomorrow. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Continue to pray for:
Pain in Brent's back (spasms).
Pain in Brent's left wrist.

Highlights:
Not throwing up at all today. PTL!!!!!!
Noreen came from MPICU for a visit.

Thank you for your prayers.
Keep hoping. Keep loving. Keep praying.

  3. Hello Peterson family. I have been watching with a huge smile the progess that Brent has been making these past few weeks. Keep the faith that things will get better again - you have all come so far over the past few months it is truly a miracle! I will send up a prayer tonight that Brent starts to feel better and stronger very soon and best of luck with the exam tomorrow. :)

  5. Hang in there Brent, Scot and Cary. We have all watched and waited patiently with the expectation of good things and God has been faithful to come through. He will help you through this as well. It is only a bump in the road and soon you will be looking back and declaring the illustrious works of the Lord. Scot we pray for wisdom for you as you write your exam, that the knowledge you have learned will spill easily onto the pages. Brent we pray that the pain you are feeling will cease and that the lines they have put in will be able to come out very soon. It is great to see your smile in the photos and we don't mind your t-shirts or games at all!!!! In fact it is great to see. Keep pushing and you will achieve your goal. You can do it! Cary we pray for rest and peace for you as you are by Brent's side and that the peace that passes all understanding will flood you and spill over onto Brent and anyone else that enter's his room.

  6. Amen to the above comment from the Duecks-well said. We too continue to pray for all of you. And especially for you, Brent as you endure the process of the lines that you need to have to assist in your recovery. Yes, a disappointment for you-but praise God that this can be done to further your healing. And Scot-praying for you as you write the exam. And Carolyn, praying for continued strength as you so graciously meet the challenges of each new day- and praise God that His mercies ARE new EVERY morning! Love you guys.
