Visitors Are Welcome

Brent is at Saskatoon City Hospital and we are letting people come to visit. We will not be at the hospital on Saturday evening or on Sunday till 5PM. Please plan your visits accordingly.

Brent with the consultation of his financier (Dad) have decide to charge a small fee ($2 person) for the privilege of visiting Brent. He wants an Xbox 360 and I told him he would have to make more money. This is Brent's plan.

LOL. Just kidding.

Day 245 - Brent out to Youth

Went to Youth and Fuddruckers.

New Hospital - same Rider room

WELCOME HOME PETERSON FAMILY!

Hey everyone,

Scot, Carolyn (Cary) and Brent are starting a new journey (again) in their lives. Today, around 11:30 a.m., the Peterson's arrived safely in Saskatoon. Some details for you to know:

• Brent's new home is at City Hospital here in Saskatoon
• Brent will be persevering through phsyio, rehab, school work, and basically getting stronger
• Scot and Carolyn (Cary) will get to finally stay in their home
• Their pet cat will be reunited with them today

We are so thankful for the care they have received for the past eight months in Regina. However, we are thankful that Brent and his parents returned today. The healing journey is not over, it's continuing now in Saskatoon.

Due to the staff getting to know Brent and keeping him busy with physio etc - there will be no visitors permitted. Watch this blog to know when you can visit.

Psalm 136:1 "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever".

PRAYER ALERT

Hey everyone!

The Peterson family is enduring great challenges this year with great optimism and trust found in God. This journey is almost eight months in the making.

Tonight, specific prayer is requested for Brent. Brent is experiencing the following:

• He has been ill all day with pain, nausea, and some vomiting
• Brent's stomach is swollen and he's experiencing some abdominal pain
• Brent was sent for X-rays and there is no blockage
• Brent is experiencing pain in his left side
• There is pain in his back
• Brent is not experiencing the flu and the medical staff is trying to figure out what is going on

Brent is so frustrated with not being well. After 234 days in the hospital, Brent is ready for life to become more fulfilling and fun. However, through his perseverance and great attitude, Brent is an inspiration to those who know him.

Pray specifically for strength for Scot and Carolyn. They are looking after Brent as well as taking care of all the necessary daily stuff. Pray for their minds to be positive and not full of worries.

New Wheels & A Better Day

Highlights:

We went to 5F for Physio and walked 2x for about 20-25 steps each time.

New wheels arrived at 3:00 from Medichair and we went to MPICU and showed off the new wheels and walked for them.

We learned how to transfer from wheelchair to Dad and Mom's van. We took a ride to Costco and then ordered supper from Applebees and then went to BestBuy.

We had supper in Brent's room from Applebee's.

Why Me?

Tonight I was upset and thinking in my mind why did this have to happen to me? We went to MPICU tonight and I said to Dad before we left my room that he will push me down and I would push myself back. On the way back to my room I didn't push myself and Dad disagreed and I got mad and wouldnt talk to Mom or Dad.
I was very frustrated and Mom tried to ask what was wrong and I got mad. I wheeled off to the elevators and went down to 5th floor and looked out the window and was asking myself why me, why the challenges and I just cried. Then I went down to 2nd floor and was just about to go to another window when I passed MPICU doors and a worker from MPICU saw me and told me that Mom and Dad were looking for me. She said they were both worried and she took me back to my room. Mom, Dad and I talked and got it settled.

The verse "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11

Day 228 - Sick Day

Brent went to 5F for Physio and walked with Myles and the walker for 12'. Myles was so excited that Brent lifted his own feet by himself that we went back to 6A. When on 6A Brent didn`t use the walker but use Myles and Dad`s hand to help him as he walked.

Brent was up this morning and in his wheelchair to meet Mom at the 15th Street entrance. He wheeled himself on his own to meet mom. He wheeled himself part of the way back and mom pushed him the rest of the way.

Brent had Physio today and he walked 2x with the parallel bars - 24'. Myles was so excited that he told Brent he was done with the parallel bars and we moved onto the walker. Brent took 10 steps with the walker. Yahoo!! Yahoo!!
