Brent is resting well this morning. His condition remains the same so the more he rests the better the healing.
Yesterday, James (one of Katie's closest friends) travelled with me to Regina to visit with the Petersons. It was great hearing some more stories about Katie.
I've been in Saskatchewan almost two years now. When James and I travelled home to Saskatoon last night - the Northern Lights were absolutely vivid and spectacular. We miss the bright personality of Katie but we know because of her faith in Jesus she is in heaven. We miss her here though.
The Peterson's thank you for the support they are receiving.

Scot & Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI want to share with you a story I heard from an old Lutheran Minister several years back. His message was on "moving mountains." I have to say, I have always seen it through the eyes of a typical Pentecostal, faith to move a massive mountain in one fell swoop. But I think there is another way to view it as well, and this minister opened my eyes to this possibility. It's grandiose to envision a massive mountain being displaced by a faith as huge as the sky. It's another thing to see that mountain moved - one shovelful at a time. The idea that this man of God was bringing is that sometimes, the hardest mountains to move, and the ones that possibly require more faith than the single massive moves, are the ones where you keep digging, little by little, shovelful by shovelful. You stand back, you look at it, and you say, "We're not getting anywhere." But it takes a HUGE amount of faith to keep going back to that mountain and putting the shovel back into the ground, and continue digging, even when this mountain looms over you and says, "You cannot move me!" My brother and sister, keep putting the shovel in the ground, don't look at the mountain, because it wants to intimidate you and make you go away, but in the shadow of that monstrosity, keep digging, keep praying, keep going, even though you are tired, you are physically spent, your mind tells you you can't do it - KEEP DIGGING! For every shovelful you throw behind you, you move that much closer to removing that mountain. Before you know it, you will have removed that mountain in Jesus' name - one shovelful at a time. Thousands are praying for you across this world - they know you by name - they know you by pain. They stand with you, beside you, ready to dig their shovels in too!
Your brother,
Chuck

Dear Cary & Scot,
ReplyDeleteJan was kind to let us know what you are going through, and to send us the link to this blog. I am so sorry that I can't be there, but please know that we love you and pray for you many many times in our day. Our church in Kamloops prays for you, too. We are sorry to not have known Katie as an older girl, but we do have a beautiful memory in our minds of a sweet, spunky, loving treasure when she was younger. We will not stop praying for Brent. And for you, too.
Love,
Sherry
Scot & Carolyn,

Scot and Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWe pray for you many times a day,as well our family are praying for you and Brent.
We remember when our David and your Katie were in the same Sunday School class at Westside, Katie was so sweet to Davey helping him in his wheelchair. She had a very kind loving spirit.
Davey has been in Heaven three and a half years now, we miss him so very much. We wonder what he and Katie are doing in Heaven. He won't need help with his wheelchair anymore.
Love and prayers

ReplyDeleteR I P KATIE
This is making my cry right know reading all these comments. I miss Katie so much and she showed me on how a true friend would treat you.
ReplyDeleteI pray for Brent evry day for god to help him heal up fast. School isn't the same with out Katie being there with me and hanging out with all her frinds. It feels to me the school has changed with out Katie being there. It's so hard for me to keep on going to the same school because I have so many memories of her there. I could always tell Katie what was on my mind and she would give me advice and it would work. I never told Katie that she was like one of my bestest friends ever at school. She was always there for me for the good times and the bad times!
Rest In Peace Kaite
