Brent is covering his trach more often and is able to say a few words when he does that motion. Yesterday (Wednesday), Brently had a very sleepy day. The medication, labetalol (regulates blood pressure) was off from 11 to 3 on Wednesday and the blood pressure was fine (YES!). Also, Brent is not constantly on morphine. Brent is able to manage his pain with the morphine. So, when he needs it for pain he just pushes a button and the morphine is released. Brent is loving the cards he is receiving, especially the ones from Australia and New Zealand. If you want to send a card, the address is on this blog. Just scroll down until you see the heading ADDRESS.
Scot wants to thank everyone who came to help with the construction of the fence at his house last weekend ....thank you!
Scot and Carolyn (Cary) want to thank Kiersten Andreae and Brittney Forsythe for organizing the benefit concert last Friday June 12. The concert turned out to be a great success for everyone who attended and for the Peterson family.
Surgery 34 went well - they are able to start closing up the abdomen area. Once Brent get his vac dressing and abdomen sewn up he will be able to have some of his birthday cake.
Things are progressing well (yet slowly) in the right direction. Brent was able to have two spoonfuls of Strawberry Milkshake from Milky Way (nice treat for Brent). Mom and Dad are doing an incredible job walking their son through this unbelievable journey. Please keep praying.
Isaiah 40:9, "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak".
Keep hoping.Keep loving.Keep praying.

So so so good to hear Brent!! Way to go. I know we haven't written on here in awhile but we do still check the site every day to see how you are and what new progress you have made. We LOVE milky way ice cream too! It is one of the best ice cream places ever. My mom used to take us there when we were little. I always got a swirl cone with sprinkles. We are so happy to hear that your blood pressure is starting to improve and that with each surgery they are able to close your abdomen more. We are going to have to try and find someone to watch our kids so that we can come in and meet you, since you are allowed visitors now. It must be so great for your parents to see and hear you communicating now. We very much look forward to meeting you and we are praying for you still. You are an amazing guy and I know thatafter this is all done you and your parents are going to be able to look back at your journey of healing and say "what a great thing my God has done." I think of you and my husband every time I hear the song Look what the Lord has done. Keep your chin up and keep making progress. every little step in this journey you are on is important and deserves recognition. so we say again.....WAY TO GO BRENT!!!!!

It is so encouraging to us to hear how Brent is slowly but surely improving and if it encourages us how much more does it encourage all of you. God has a plan for Brent - I wonder what it is.

We are so thankful to be reading these encouraging reports!! Can hardly wait for the vac dressing to be no longer needed. I looked it up on the internet - it is quite the amazing piece of medical technology, though!! Your family is in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteScot, you are living out our graduating class's name, aren't you? Diakonos. Keep looking to Him for your strength, and please give Carolyn and Brent hugs from us.
