Here's the latest happenings with our "Little Man":
- Brent didn't have a good sleep last night (pray for deep sound sleep)
- the vomiting has eased (pray that it will stop altogether)
- today, he is on less morphine (no longer running through his IV)
- his ankles and knees were bothering him today
- some parts of his body are still swollen (pray for the swelling to go away)
- Brent had surgery number thirty yesterday afternoon - everything went well except they were not able to sew the abdomen a little bit closer due to swelling
- there is an incision on Brent's right leg from the last major surgery - today thirty six staples were taken out from his leg (that's only half of them)
Little miracles are still happening with Brent. Today, Brent was able to go into a special chair. Dad took his son for a little ride in the hallway. Brent, being pushed by his Dad, made a lap around the ICU nursing station. This Father and son time wore Brent out - but he enjoyed it.
Brent is finding comfort in his parents. Brent found out that Scot was planning on coming to Saskatoon this weekend to do some work around the house. Brent communicated that he did not want his Dad to go because he was afraid that Dad would get hurt. Scot has decided to stay this weekend in Regina to ease the worries of his son. The love these parents have for their son is extraordinary.
Keep hoping.Keep loving.Keep praying.

Thank you for this update. We wait anxiously all day, as we pray and trust for a full recovery for Brent and strength for Scot and Cary.

It seems like God is renewing your strength, just like it says in Isaiah. Through this painful situation, God is using your family to bring glory to His name. We continue to pray for a complete recovery for Brent.

We too await the blog hoping for good days for Brent. We are so thankful each time we see good things happening for him. We will continue to pray for good days. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWow...the strength that you have can only come from God...I thank God for giving Brent the parents he needed. You are amazing - all of you.
ReplyDeleteWe continue to pray, hope and believe!
Lane has mentioned he wants to see Brent at camp, I told him I am sure when he gets to come home, I am sure if there is a party that he will get to go...lol....funny how only knowing Brent for one week of camp made such an impression on an 8 year old (he is now 9)...but seriously Brent is loved at camp and I am sure will be missed that week....my son is praying he gets better soon so he can at least visit camp. Hang in there Brent - you are loved, a miracle, an inspiration and so are your parents! hugs from Sandy & Lane (Warman)
There is strength in the name of the Lord, there is power in the name of the Lord. There is hope in the name of the Lord. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Scott, Cary and Little Man Brent, God will continue to strengthen you and fill you with His peace.

Greetings Scot Carolyn and Brent
ReplyDeletePraying daily for you all. So thankful for the updates. Glad to hear Brent got to go for a ride in a chair.
Pastor Rob Clark can you please let us know if there are any donations being taken for this family? There must be alot of expense as time goes on.
Scot or Carolyn can you give me an address so I can send a seed to help, I'm sure each seed will help as you are their constantly with your son. Just to be able to eat out at a hospital and parking expences adds up, and those are just the minor of needs.
Pastor Clark or you folks please don't hesitate to give an address as after all we are all family.
You are awesome parents who love your son dearly. Praying daily for miracles to manifest.
Love

ReplyDeleteScot & Car, so sorry to hear about that precious little one passing away but thankful you were able to keep that connection and attend the funeral. God is using your obedience in huge ways and I know He is so proud of you.

Hey Brent!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that you could go for a ride in the chair!! Tonight when I prayed with Josh at bedtime, he let me know that I missed praying for you, so he said a quiet prayer for God to take care of you. The kids love you and care about you and often ask about the latest updates on how you're doing. Just wanted you to know that.
Josh and Sydney won their soccer game tonight - Josh did really well in net! When you're better, you'll have to spend some time giving them pointers on how they can improve their game - they love it, but maybe not as much as you do :)
In the morning we're going to Camp Kadesh for Church Camp. I know that you've got some great memories of that place, and we'll be thinking of you as we make new memories of our own!
Take care, bud! Just wanted you know that we are constantly thinking about you (and your mom and dad, too) and praying for you always!!
Love,
Uncle Marlin, Auntie Edith, Josh, Syd, Rylee & Graham
We continue to keep you all in prayer. We appreciate being able to share a bit of this journey with you through this blog & comments. Bless you Scot & Carolyn, Brent
